Katrín Ólafsdóttir is an associate professor and vice chair at Reykjavik University Department of Business and Economics. Katrín holds a PhD in Labor Economics from Cornell University. Her research is primarily in the field of labor economics. She has studied wage development in the Icelandic labor market through the great recession and organizational decisions involving layoffs and wage cuts. She has also studied gender effects in the labor market, both in terms of wage development as well as gender composition of workplaces. Katrín also has been involved in economic policy, both fiscal and monetary.
