George Gavtadze

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs responsible for the division of tasks and evaluation of results within projects. Actively participates in developing topics within selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), in particular SDG 8 and 11. Professor, doctor of economics. Author of ten monographs and textbooks, and as many as eighty scientific articles. Member of the editorial and scientific boards of ten journals and scientific collections. Participates in international projects that support professional development and research activities. He organized several national and international conferences and won scientific and practical grant projects financed by international organizations, the central government, local authorities of Georgia, etc.

The main research areas are: regional economy, local government and public finances; the social state and moral economy; education and economy; investments.

He received the title of “Doctoris honoris causa” from the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design (2024); by the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine for the success achieved in deepening cooperation between universities of Ukraine and Georgia (2018); by the President of Georgia with the “Presidential Order of Highness” for successes in the field of higher education in Georgia (2012).
