Dr. Irakli Samkharadze is a leading figure in energy, climate and European Union law in South-Eastern Europe. He holds a PhD in Energy Law and an LL.M. With a Master’s degree in International and European Public Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam, Irakli’s academic and professional journey has been defined by his involvement in sustainable energy markets and legislative navigation.
His roles as Associate Professor and Project Manager illustrate his commitment to education and research. Notably, Irakli’s contributions include prestigious institutions such as KU Leuven, FU Berlin and the University of Jena, where he has conducted comprehensive research on energy and climate law over the years. Irakli is also an accomplished author, specializing in the external effects of EU law, energy law, climate change and the Energy Community. His work has gained recognition through academic awards and distinguished publications. Irakli currently serves as an energy advisor at OMNIA GmbH, where he helps EU partner countries in South-Eastern Europe implement the Energy Community acquis.
